This project uses infrared distance measuring sensor to detect when an object is within close range of the camera and then uses a servo to press the button to take the picture.
Could be used to take pictures of wildlife at close range without having to attend the camera.
Here is an example of the camera enclosed in a very simple 'hide'.
I set this up in the summer so there weren't many birds around, however, I did capture my inquisitive cat, so seems to work!
